Anemia from Kidney Disease Study at Global Medical Research
Do you have chronic (ongoing) kidney disease?
Do you also have anemia that needs to be treated, or are you taking medication for anemia?
We are looking for patients to join the PRO2TECT Studies (PRO2TECT Correction and PRO2TECT Conversion)
The PRO2TECT Studies will compare vadadustat, an investigational (potential new) medication, to an existing, approved anemia medication, given by injection. The potential new medication is taken by mouth.
You may be able to take part in this study:
- If you are 18 years of age or older
- If you have chronic kidney disease (CKD) but you are not on dialysis
- Whether or not you already take a medication such as Procrit®, Eprex®, Mircera®, Neorecormon®, Epogen®, or Aranesp™ [darbepoetin alfa] for anemia
- If you have not had an organ transplant and are not due to have a kidney transplant.
Participation in the PRO2TECT Studies will last between 1.5 and 4 years and will require regular visits to the study center. The study medication (potential new medication and approved anemia medication) and all study-related assessments will be provided at no cost to you.
